I know it's been said by many before, but I'm gonna rant some more.
This rating system is so corrupt. I submitted an Icon(Adobe CS) 1/21/04 an recieved the infamous "6" then sign in today and notice that it's been downgraded to a "4", 5 days later. PLEASE!! What a joke. The system is pathetic here and everyone knows it. Get rid of the "Ratings" and let the members decide on their own whether they like it or not. Until I see a change, I refuse to submit any of my hard work and time to this caos.

Ok this IS in english, plain english at that. I didn't see any work done by you on this site, and I did see work that is under the name "lecrayon" at another site featuring "fine art" (i.e. paintings, drawings). So I "wrongly" assumed that was your work on that link. Sorry for the critical error of assuming those works were yours. With the fact that I have no idea what it is you do since I've seen none of your work, lets get back to the personal attack shall we?

When I said "I do my homework before I open my mouth and risk making myself look like a fool." It means exactly that, "I" means "I", I doesn't mean you, nor does it refer to "you", you is not a synonym of I, contains none of the same letters, is pronounced differently, and has a very different meaning. "I" didn't say anything about "you" being less of an artist than "you" stated. Nor did "I" call "you" a fool, or an [expletive deleted]. Please note that the word "I" is being used in that sentence, not "you."

Your constructive critism is a good idea, but how many people here can really give out useful critiques instead of just comments.
Most of the people here do not understand the difference between "what they like" and "what works"

wow, im dizzy.

i also think that when a person rates, they should be required to put a comment (that is appropriate) along with the rating...
on Jan 28, 2004
I think when people rate they should do it on triplicate with a photo id and their birth certificate. ratings are meant to be anonymous, no? at least to everybody but the people in charge. unless you feel that you need to comment on the skin, I really see no reason to force and comment with a rating. If anything that would discourage ratings, something there is already to few of.

tho i do rate when i really like something .. i refrain from rateing only for the fact with my having had only a couple of things uploaded, i dont feel qualified to judge anothers skins based on the criteria used...maybe as i get more established as a skinner i will feel more confident in rateing skins .....
on Jan 28, 2004
i do feel there should be 2 rateing's . one is the average users rateing ,as in popularity .. the second a skinners rateing. this one set by fellow skinners. the two would then be averaged to make the final rateing...ok so basically thered be 3 actual numbers
1.the popular vote
2.the skinners vote
3.the averaged vote of the above 2

this way a skinner can see how a skin stands with the masses, his fellow skinners, and see as a whole, what the comunity feels his skin deservs ...

this just my 2 cents worth tho

I think we should see how this new rating system will work before offering anymore suggestions, for all we know it might fix a lot of the problems

Maybe there should be three ratings. Something like an rating for originality, one for quality, and maybe one for design.
